Creative Techniques for Well Crafted Design.
Brian French from French Paper will start off the discussion then all presenters will give quick snippets about how they got educated, how they ended up in studios that create unique things, and why considering many various unique techniques can make projects kick ass. Moderator Stu Alden from Ink Lounge will give plenty of time for Q&A.

Stop by to meet Brian French from French Paper along with some companies who understand that being unique is how we all survive in the creative industry. From the paper choice, to printing processes – even customized fabrication. Everyone will have displays which will be a great chance to see examples and learn first hand from some local resources when you’re looking to solve a creative puzzle to impress your clients. Hands-On Studio Openings.
For Saturday the participating studios will be open to the public where attendees can learn more about their processes and see things in action.

Stu will be giving tours around the space where he will be going over some of the differences between paper and fabric printing along with examples and tips for setting up files for each.

Donna's studio is only a few blocks from Ink Lounge where she will have one design engraved in five different sample materials on hand to see the different qualities of each: leather, wood, acrylic, rubber and chipboard. After completing a complete studio workshop build, she will also have information on the building materials used and happy to discuss the studio/workshop.
PLEASE NOTE: it is an alleyway access to the garage workshop/studio. Park at 6th and Fox or 6th and Galapago and make your way to the alley between those two streets off of 6th. Look for the Open Studio sign in the alley.

Located 5 miles north of Ink Lounge, Genghis Kern will have a live letterpress demo from 1:30 to 2:30 where you can come pull a print or two. They’ll have some of their presses inked up and visitors can pull a print and learn more about the tactile process of letterpress printing.
